Burglary, assault charged
A July 15 incident in which a woman allegedly burst into a residence on Third Street and assaulted another person has resulted in charges being filed. Nicole Joanne Wallace, 32, Inver Grove Heights, faces charges of burglary in the second degree and (felony) and domestic assault (misdemeanor) following the incident. According to the criminal complaint, Wallace apparently burst through the door and assaulted one of three people there. She apparently threw a water bottle, a beer can and a cereal bowl at the male victim. One of the other people grabbed her to try to prevent her from striking the victim. However, she continued to strike the victim.
The complaint indicates that Wallace and the male victim had been in a relationship and it ended in last December. In a statement to police, Wallace admitted she kicked the victim and threw a bowl at him. She denied striking him.
