HEDRA names new leaders

At its first meeting of the year, the Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority restructured its leadership.

Leadership positions in HEDRA are rotated annually to provide each member a leadership opportunity.

HEDRA will provide temporary parking lot

From the middle of March through the beginning of June, HEDRA will convert one of its vacant lots, located across Fourth Street from City Hall, into a temporary gravel parking lot. During that time, Mn/DOT will be doing work on Vermillion Street between Fourth and Fifth streets, reducing parking availability. The temporary lot will have a two-hour parking limit enforced, and will be returned to its current condition or better by Mn/DOT when Vermillion Street is again available for parking.

Hudson Manufacturing demolition reveals new costs

In demolition a portion of the Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority's recently acquired Hudson Manufacturing property, Mn/DOT discovered five window wells below grade that need to be blocked off. Mn/DOT requested HEDRA let a contract for the project, at the cost of $3,000 to $5,000. HEDRA will be fully reimbursed by Mn/DOT.
