Dear Friends,

Welcome to Hastings, one of Minnesota's oldest communities established in March of 1857, before statehood. Hastings is a city rich in history, blessed with many beautiful natural amenities and it has a vibrant business climate. Hastings is truly a city on the move.

I invite those who are visiting our Hastings community to shop our local businesses. For service and quality, our businesses are second to none. Enjoy the wonderful history and charm of historic downtown with many specialty and antique shops. Our community has vast shopping opportunities including the Vermillion Street corridor and Midtown, and in west Hastings you will find Westview and Market Place shopping centers. In south Hastings is the County Crossroads shopping district. The businesses in Hastings are friendly and want to meet your shopping needs. Please remember, if you live in Hastings, support our local businesses.

Hastings can proudly boast of its beautiful natural scenic areas. Whether you walk along the falls of the Vermillion River or bike along the mighty Mississippi River to watch eagles take flight, we have plenty of things to do. Hastings maintains over 400 acres of open space and has many amenities including an aquatic center, civic ice arena and even a disc golf course. Our trails run throughout Hastings and are over 25 miles in length. It is one of the most scenic trail systems in the entire metro area. Moreover, you will be impressed by visiting our historic buildings, homes and sites including a must-see visit of an early Minnesota pioneer's life at the Historic LeDuc Estate.

Our Hastings community is proud of the quality of our schools, our modern medical facilities, our strong faith community and the great opportunities we have here that enhance the quality of our lives. Welcome to Hastings and please visit us again soon!

Best Wishes,

Paul J. Hicks
