Charges filed in fake Prescott stabbing

The Prescott Police Department announced last week three individuals have been municipally cited for their involvement in the alleged stabbing incident Halloween night.

Raymond B. Norton, 19, 7604 160th St., Hastings, has been charged with one count of disorderly conduct, while Nicole A. Beil, 20, 551 18th St., E., Hastings, and Brittiny G. Beil, 25, Yankton, S.D., have each been charged with one count of obstruction.

At 11:31 p.m. Oct. 31, Prescott police and Pierce County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report a man had been stabbed with a knife during an altercation at a motel at 1010 U.S. Highway 10 in the city.

Officers arrived and were told the alleged victim, Norton, had been stabbed in the chest during an alleged altercation with another man whose identity was unknown. Both Norton and an alleged perpetrator left prior to police arrival.

Following an extensive search for Norton in the city, it became known the stabbing report was false. Nicole Beil had been with Norton and admitted to an officer she made up the alleged stabbing story to prevent him from being arrested for an alleged probation violation in Minnesota. Brittany Beil was charged for allegedly helping make up the story.

Prescott Police Chief Mike R. Bondarenko said Monday all three have a December 14 court date in Prescott Municipal Court. He added restitution will be pursued for the wages of the officers involved, however the figure has yet to be determined.
