438 receive diplomas in indoor ceremony

Hastings High School gave 438 seniors their diplomas Friday, June 11.

A total of 438 Hastings High School seniors participated in the 2010 graduation ceremony Friday, June 11, in the school field house.

Named as valedictorians for the class were Alicia Beattie, Amy Bettcher, Ashlee Bohn, Katherine Frank, Nicole Gaertner, Foster Gale, Emily Hughes, Brianna Johnson, Tyler Johnston, Justin Knoll, Emily Koop, Rebecca Kummer, Paul Latt, Suzanne Mages, Courtney Matula, Madeline O'Brien, Andrea Ohman, Amanda Oppold, Madeline Pasch, Trevor Patton, Kelly Pechous, Amanda Peine, Brian Schiefelbein, Kalley Schumacher and Thomas Schingledecker.

Names as salutatorians were Ellen Bergschneider, Eric Best, Jillian Fritze, Emily Gjelnaug, Michael Hill, Kimberly Jahnke, Lunden Kelly, Ashley McDonald, Eric McDonald, Jessica Moes, Thomas Moynihan, Elizabeth Neitke, Kacie Perkins, Mary Ries and Whitney Vought.

Graduate speakers were members of the 2010 class - Jordan Klimek, Jake Berens, Jessica Moes and Kacie Perkins.

Members of the Hastings School Board, Leslie Nielsen, Amy Peltier, Angie McGinnis, Teresa Moes, Brad Stoneberg, Dan Cater and Dan Griel presented the diplomas as David Russell Larson pronounced the names.

Superintendent Tom Collins and Principal Mike Johnson offered their congratulations. The Hastings High School Choir also participated in the ceremony.
