WEEKLY SPORTS UPDATE: Boys basketball team comes up four short against Roseville

The Hastings High School boys basketball team dropped its eighth-straight game Friday night, falling to the Roseville Raiders 61-57.

Hastings held a 33-19 halftime lead, but was outscored 42-24 in the second half. Sophomore Chris Hall led the Raiders with 19 points and was the only Hastings player to reach double figures.

The Hastings High School girls basketball team also dropped a game to Roseville Friday night by the score of 57-43. The Raiders trailed by just two points at halftime, but couldn't stay with Roseville in the second half.

Senior Catherine Hintz was the only Raider to score in double figures in the loss, scoring 18 points to lead team.

The Hastings High School boys hockey team saw its season-long losing streak extend to seven games with a pair of SEC losses last week.

The Raiders fell to Woodbury 6-2 Thursday night before falling to Park of Cottage Grove 5-2 Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the Hastings High School girls hockey team saw its season-high five-game winning streak and seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end Friday with a 2-1 overtime loss to Forest Lake.

Hastings' freshman Jordy Klimek scored the Raiders' only goal on an assist from senior Clare Sanders in the loss.

The Hastings High School wrestling team continued to stay unbeaten agaisnt Minnesota teams this season with a 57-19 win against Park of Cottage Grove. Hastings is currently ranked No. 2 in the state.
