The Harbor

healing program

Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered healing program for people dealing with life's problems, is held at 6 p.m. each Friday at The Harbor, 11125 W. Point Douglas Road.

Childcare is available from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

St. Philip's hold evening service

St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 1401 W. 15th St., holds evening services Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. The program is about faith, oneness, community, unity and salvation (FOCUS). The service offers worship, renewal and hope.

Community Prayer Thursdays

Hastings Community Prayer meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Hastings City Hall, 101 E. Fourth St.

Hastings Community Prayer consists of people who come together to pray for the government, religious leaders, business owners, those in public service and families in the community.

St. Philip's Lutheran Church prayer team invites people to a time of prayer and encouragement for healing at 7:15 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the church, 1401 W. 15th St.

Methodist church

presents WINGS

We're in God's Study (WINGS) Bible study meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the United Methodist Church, 615 W. 15th St. The book of Daniel is being studied.

Luther band

to play at church

The Luther College Concert Band, under the direction of Fred Nyline, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. Ninth St. Hastings resident Todd Wedekind is the trumpet section leader of the group.

The concert band is one of the oldest touring organizations in the nation. Last May and June, the band toured and performed in Japan and China.

A freewill offering will be taken at the concert.

Annual sausage supper Oct. 29

The Father Kaesen's Knights of Columbus Council 5199 will hold its annual sausage supper from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall, 106 W. Main St., Vermillion.

The menu includes pork and blood sausage, German potato salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, sauerkraut, baked beans and beverage.

Nonperishable food items are requested for Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home food drive.
