Fox family has been named Farm Family of the year
The Minnesota Farmers Union congratulated Greg and Sandi Fox of Dakota County for being honored by the University of Minnesota as the 2014 Farm Family of the Year from their county. The Fox farm is in Rosemount and has been in the family for three generations. Their farm began in 1949 when Greg’s parents Henry and Katie rented it from Henry’s uncle. Now Greg is managing the farm with the help of his son Kevin. Greg and his wife, Sandi, have a 200 sow, farrow to finish hog operation as well as a small beef herd. They also grow corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and canning crops.
“The Fox family has carried on a strong tradition of family farming and of helping rural communities succeed and thrive,” said Doug Peterson, Minnesota Farmers Union President. “The Fox family deserves this recognition and Minnesota Farmers Union is proud and honored to have them as members. We congratulate and thank them for their contributions to our organization and to Minnesota agriculture.”
The University of Minnesota has been honoring farm families for over three decades. They chose families who have made significant contributions to the agriculture community and their communities.
