Dakota County Technical College will be hosting a weeklong program on career exploration for girls going into grades 5-8. The program will take place July 25-29.

The first three days will focus on programs that DCTC offers such as design, business, health, science, transportation, industry, and technology.

Hands on activities will include housing design on computers, dark room and digital photography, welding, looking at nanocrystals and other things on the atomic scale.

The remaining two days of camp will be hosted by Best Buy Geek Squad Summer Academy. Activities will consist of digital animation, digital photography, and more.

"It's going to be a lot of fun, with hands on experience," said Linda Foster, Director of Instructional Technology for DCTC. "We want people to know that technical education is an option after high school."

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and has a fee of $25 for the week. To register go to
