From zombies to writing songs:Teens invited to library

Hastings-area teens are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library for a few exciting events this month. On Monday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the library will host a workshop on surviving a zombie apocalypse. This program is taught by two Minnesota authors of a survival guide, Bud Hanzel and John Olson. These two experts will help you fine tune your survival plans and offer you some useful tips. Following the workshop the group will watch a zombie movie and enjoy some snacks. According to information provided by the library, those in attendance can expect to be real experts on the zombie field by the end of the evening.

The following Monday, June 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Minnesota singer, performer and teacher Sasha Mercedes teaches a song writing workshop. No experience is necessary, just lots of enthusiasm.

If you have watched Rebecca Black's Friday and thought, "I could do that," or "do that better," this is the class for you. Check out Sasha Mercedes on Facebook or Myspace. Register for this event by visiting the library website at library, or call the library at 651-438-0200.

There is no charge for any of the programs offered by the Dakota County Library.
