Especially for children at the LeDuc

The LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings, is now open for the summer tour season and children of all ages are invited to visit for a special story hour the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.  Children and their parents will gather at the LeDuc Chicken Coop where the story time will take place.  Not only will the children hear wonderful stories about chickens, but they will be introduced to the new chicks.  There will be an opportunity to feed the chicks and learn about the various heritage breeds.  The chicks like visitors and more than likely the chicks will talk back when children speak to them.  This event is free and in case of rain, the group will meet in the Simmons Shed which is next to the chicken coop.  While at the LeDuc Historic Estate, families are encouraged to take a guided tour at regular scheduled times and admission fees. The LeDuc Historic Estate is owned by the City of Hastings and managed by Dakota County Historical Society.  See www.dakotahistory.org for updates on events at LeDuc or call 651-438-8480.
