UW-Stevens Point undergraduates honored for scholastic achievement

Students from Hastings honored for scholastic achievement at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point are Jennifer Lanting, highest honors, and Shane Loesch, high honors.

UW-Madison announces dean’s list

Hannah Simons of Hastings was named on the dean’s list with high honors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a 2012 graduate of Hastings High School and is applying to the Wisconsin School of Business.

Loyola University announces dean’s list

Paige Kelly, daughter of Mike and Deb Kelly of Hastings, was named on the dean’s list at the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University Chicago, for the spring 2014 semester.

Kelly has just completed her junior year.

Ruedy receives scholarship from North Dakota State

Kit Ruedy, daughter of Tom Ruedy and Betsy Larsen of Hastings, received the North Dakota State University Freshman Academic Scholarship in the amount of $2,500. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.

Ruedy will enter NDSU in the fall of 2014 and plans to attend the College of Pharmacy. In high school, Ruedy was active in National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, soccer and hockey.

UW-La Crosse announces dean’s list

The following students from Hastings have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the spring semester of the 2013-14 academic year, ending May 2014: Mary Ries, management major; and Lewis Youngren, theatre arts major with a performance emphasis.

Patton graduates from Boston College

Trevor Patton of Hastings has graduated cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the university’s College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in economics.

Northwestern in St. Paul announces dean’s list

Zachary J. Biermaier of Hastings has been named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul.

Minnesota-Duluth announces dean’s list

Hastings students named on the University of Minnesota Duluth spring semester 2014 dean’s list are: Jordan Hoeft; Benjamin Jackson; Jenna R. Kalin; Alexandra Kurilla; Adam Markulics; Aaron M. Schiller; Ashlee Siewert; Molly Streiff; and Caitlin Whited.

College of St. Scholastica announces graduates

Several students from Hastings recently graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.

They are: Jordan Klimek, Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising and public relations; Pamela Jahnke, Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry; Katelynn Ankley, Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry; Jill Schoeppner, doctorate in physical therapy.

Wisconsin-Stout announces graduates

Students from Hastings who graduated in May 2014 from the University of Wisconsin-Stout are: Nichole Short, education specialist in school psychology; Lisa Botcher, Bachelor of Science in human development and family studies; Amanda Peterson, Master of Science in risk control; and Alexander Bresnanhan, Bachelor of Science in information technology management.

U of M-Twin Cities announces dean’s list

Hannah Hoffman has been named on the dean’s list at the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development for the spring 2014 semester. Hoffman is a 2011 graduate of Hastings High School. She is the daughter of Jim and Molly Hoffman of Hastings.

Southeast Technical announces president’s list

Rebecca Pete and Conan Soine of Hastings have been named to the president’s list at Southeast Technical for the spring 2014 semester.

Swanson graduates from University of Minnesota

Andrew Thomas Swanson graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities on May 16 with a Bachelor of Science degree in materials science and engineering with distinction.  

His parents are Loren and Denise Swanson of Hastings.  Swanson also holds an associate in applied science in nanoscience technology.  He is beginning his career as a research engineer at 3M.


St. Cloud State announces dean’s list

Students from Hastings named to the dean’s list at St. Cloud State University are: Melanie Devine, School of Education, social studies education; Connor Loch, Herberger Business School; Samantha Truax, School of Education, elementary education.

Magee named to Dean's List

Megan Magee, daughter of Jim and Geri Magee of Hastings, was named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Winona State University. Magee graduated in May 2014 with a major in criminal justice/law enforcement and a minor in Spanish.

Luther College announces 2014 graduates

Students from Hastings receiving their degrees from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, are: Briana Osterman of Hastings, the daughter of Brian and Tamara Osterman. She majored in psychology.

Kara Osterman of Hastings, the daughter of Brian and Tamara Osterman. She majored in political science and environmental studies.
