Charlee Simacek wins champion ribbon

Charlee Simacek of Hastings won a champion ribbon in rabbit agility at the Dakota County Fair. She competed in the beginners division and was the fastest rabbit on the obstacle course. Her rabbit’s name is “Snickers.”

He is a Netherland Dwarf rabbit that is 1 year old. Charlee has been in 4-H for three years and is a member of the “Klover Klub” 4-Hers here in Hastings. Charlee is 10 years old. She also competed in the dog show, gave a demonstration, and exhibited in photography, indoor gardening and arts and crafts. She earned seven blue ribbons and two red ribbons.

Biermaier named on Northwestern College dean’s list

Zachary Biermaier, the son of James Biermaier of Hastings, was named with High Honors to the spring semester dean’s list at Northwestern College in St. Paul. Biermaier is pursuing a degree in children and family ministry and  business at Northwestern.
