'History of Cars' is this weekend
History buffs and motorheads alike will find this week's Saturday Night Cruise-In entertaining. The special show will feature a "History of Cars."
An hour earlier than usual, at 4 p.m., downtown streets will be blocked off for the cars to set up. The goal was to have one car on display from each year between 1900-1976. As of Tuesday, Cruise-In organizers were still looking for cars from 1900, 1901 and 1903, but organizer Kevin Hoeschen was optimistic they'd find the remaining cars.
"There just aren't that many around (from those years)," he said.
The cars will line up down the center of Second Street. Each will have a sign on it with the owner's name; the year, make and model of the car; and the history or any special information about the car.
The Cruise-Ins, which take place in the historic downtown area, are free and open to the public.
