In support of Adam Estenson
To the editor,
I am writing today to tell Hastings about my Husband, Adam Estenson. I have known Adam for 14 years. We were long distance high school sweethearts. I graduated from White Bear Lake High School. We have been married for eight years and have two daughters, 5 years old and 9 months old. Adam is a true family man. He is a terrific husband and our girls are absolutely blessed to have him as a father.
I have always known Adam to be a leader. When we met in high school Adam sat on the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Pastoral Council as the Youth Representative. I have seen him grow as a leader since then. Adam became the president of our homeowners association at the age of 22. At the age of 24 he was appointed to the Hastings Planning Commission. At 27 years old Adam was elected chairman by his fellow commissioners. He has been unanimously elected chairman for the third year in a row now (the commission elects its chairman every year). As a commissioner, Adam has always taken great time and consideration in his decision making. It’s the little things he does that help him to make informed decisions, like going to the properties in question and simply walking around.
Adam has worked for his parents’ business, Perfekt, Inc., for over 10 years. When the recession hit, Perfekt was hit hard. We had to lay off our staff and take pay cuts. To help make ends meet Adam went out and began driving school bus three years ago. After driving for a year and a half, Adam was promoted to supervisor and helped to open a new location for Hastings Bus Company in Denmark Township. Adam supervises about 60 employees. He has also helped the family business to rebound. Adam actually knows what it takes to run a business and take care of customers and employees.
When it comes to leadership, Adam is a great listener. He never does anything halfway. He is honest, straightforward and passionate. Adam and I have committed to raising our family in Hastings. I believe in the Hastings Adam wants for his family and yours. Elect Adam Estenson as the next council member to represent the people of Ward 2 and the City of Hastings.
Editor’s note: Carrie Estenson is Adam Estenson’s wife.
