Letter: In support of Angie McGinnis

I am writing this letter in support of Mrs. Angie McGinnis for the School Board. I have known Angie for more than 20 years dating back to our college days at Bemidji State University. Since those early days of her career Angie has always been at the forefront of Education, Community, and Service.

Angie supports education. As a long time teacher and coach she has walked in the shoes of the employees of District 200. She understands the complexities of curriculum, school finance, buildings and grounds and human relations, and above all believes that every student has a right to an education that will prepare them to be productive citizens.

Angie excels at being a parent. Raising her family in the community Angie understands the need to provide the best educational programming possible for the children and adults of Hastings. She, more than anyone, gets that education does not stop at the end of the school day or after graduation. She understands the need for a solid community education program that reaches all ages and abilities.

Angie’s resume speaks for itself. Bridge to a Cure, food drives, leadership committees through church and other organizations are just a few of the things that Angie has done and continues to do as a parent, teacher and school board member. Angie finds the time to continuously pay it forward to the community of Hastings and District 200.

In my current job as an Assistant Principal at the Forest Lake Area High School I have the opportunity to work closely with our school board and the community. As I write this letter and reflect on the leadership qualities that I look for in Forest Lake, I cannot think of another person better equipped to serve than Angie McGinnis as a Board Member.

As a community put your support behind Angie McGinnis for School Board. She has the ability to move people and District 200 into future.
