Just one game remains on the regular season schedule for the Hastings girls basketball team. This Friday, Hastings travels to Forest Lake to conclude its Suburban East Conference season against the Rangers, who are 11-6 in league play.
The Hastings boys basketball team lost to White Bear Lake on Friday, 79-49.
In the second half, about three minutes in, Hastings had trimmed the White Bear Lake lead to four points, but starting point guard Joe Dittrich got into foul trouble for Hastings and he had to sit down.
There just aren’t any easy nights for the Hastings boys basketball team. The Raiders, playing with a small and inexperienced varsity roster, have taken some lumps so far this season. That said, coach Chad Feikema continues to be encouraged by what he is seeing from his team.
Coming into this season, Hastings girls basketball coach Mike Harp talked about how important it would be for his team to stay healthy this year. The Raiders had a roster relatively light on varsity experience, so there wasn’t a lot of proven depth to rely on should anyone get hurt.
