Bring your cross country skis and join in for an evening on the trails. On Saturday Jan. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. ski the 3.5 miles of candlelit trails, enjoy a conversation around the campfire, and warm up by the fireplace inside the Schaar’s Bluff Gathering Center at Spring Lake Park Reserve in Hastings. The event is open to all ages.
Christmas in the Village at Dakota City Heritage Village in Farmington, was canceled on Dec. 11 and 12 due to bad weather, it has been rescheduled to Saturday, Dec. 18, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Adults and children alike will be able to experience a 1900s-era Christmas holiday with lighted trees and decorated buildings.
Hastings schools superintendent Tim Collins has canceled all events planned at Hastings schools for Saturday, Dec. 11. The cancellations also include all home and away athletic events and the Breakfast with Santa that was planned for McAuliffe elementary.
Guests are invited to attend, view, and purchase the work that is being featured at the Hastings Artists Show now to Nov. 14 at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings. The show will run from regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
There’s not always something new out of an old place like Dakota City Heritage Village, but the folks out there are giving it a shot this month.
Instead of offering the Grand History Day program Dakota City has held for the better part of two decades, this year, they’re trying something new: the Harvest Moon Festival.
