Bless Hastings in conjunction with Hastings Pastor Randy Strode and Lead Like Jesus Ministries will sponsor a Lead Like Jesus workshop, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 17, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at The Harbor, 11125 W. Pt. Douglas Drive.

For the third consecutive year, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is offering the use of its parking lot for its annual tailgate sale. The event is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1. For a $15 fee interested people can rent two parking spaces in the church lot, 2035 W. 15th St., and sell their items.
The Southeast Deanery Council of Catholic Women had to reschedule its spring meeting to Thursday, April 25, at the St. Paul Church of Zumbrota. The day will start with Mass at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary.
Registration is in the lower level. Coffee will be served. The business meeting will start at 9:45 a.m. At 11a.m. the special speaker for the day will be Heather Sharp, who has survived two serious accidents. Her topic is “Faith and Attitude.”
As the Easter story, music and message become less prominent in the church services, another tradition is ready to be presented at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, 1401 W. 15th St.
The youth of the church will present the musical, “What’s Up Jesus? Walkin’ with the Lord,” in the 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday, April 14. All are open to the community.
This week, they share a common thread among their religious beliefs. Although the various churches in Hastings primarily worship and reach out to the community independently they will come together to worship and praise their God this Friday, Good Friday.
It’s not always easy for Krista Allgor to talk about what she’s seen in Cambodia. Families that can’t afford food. Children working in factories to help pay their parents’ debts. Teachers asking for bribes just so they can support themselves. Parents subjecting their children to sex trafficking.
Parents – plan a night out for yourself while the children are in a safe place, participating in a variety of activities.
First Presbyterian Church will offer its monthly Parents Night Out (PNO) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the church, Sixth and Vermillion streets. Parents may bring children ages 10 and younger to the church for an evening of games, crafts, snacks and homework help.
The Church of St. Joseph in Miesville will be hosting its annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. Menu includes mouth-watering corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, homemade Irish soda bread, and dessert bars.
