Minnesota legislative leaders met off and on Friday with Gov. Mark Daytons staff, with no agreement on major issues left before a self-imposed Monday adjournment deadline.

Utility work on the Hastings bridge next Wednesday and Thursday, May 8 and 9, may cause traffic delays. The work will restrict traffic to a single lane in both directions of Hwy 61 between Fourth Street and Highway 10 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day.
It didn’t last for long, and it wasn’t a widespread problem across Dakota County, but incredibly slick conditions Monday morning led to about a dozen crashes in a matter of minutes just south of Hastings.
The price for the new Hastings bridge just went up by at least $2.4 million.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation agreed last week to pay the contractor in the project $2.1 million for overtime to keep the project on schedule for a December 2013 completion.
