The Hastings Hawks did it again.
After shocking local fans and beating Dundas to qualify for the state tournament, Hastings faced the state’s No. 1 team and reigning state champion, the Mankato Twins.

Mudhens, Hawks advance
One big inning and solid defense lifted Miesville to an 8-3 victory Wednesday over Red Wing. The win gave the Mudhens a sweep of the best-of-five Section 1 playoff series and a trip to the Class B state tournament.

Hastings Hawks advance in Section 1B playoffs
The Hastings Hawks have advanced to the Section 1B playoffs by taking two games from the Northfield Knights in the 4/5 play-in series. The Hawks finished tied for third place in the Classic Cannon Valley League with the Red Wing Aces but the tie-breaker criteria put the local nine into the play-in series.

The Hastings Hawks took on the Red Wing Aces Sunday afternoon at Vets Park. The Hawks won the game, 4-3, in 12 innings.

Aces hold off Hawks in CCVL play
The Hastings Hawks returned to action at Red Wing on Sunday. After being off since the first of July, the Hawks took on the Red Wing Aces in a Classic Cannon Valley League game. Red Wing won, 2-1.

This past weekend, the Hastings Hawks traveled to Green Isle for the Green Isle/Hamburg tournament. The Hawks faced Fergus Falls in the first game and won, 4-3.

Since defeating the Hampton Cardinals July 7, the Hastings Hawks have dropped three straight games, dropping to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in league play.
