Pechous again an all-stater 
Hastings High School senior Kelly Pechous placed 10th at the state Alpine ski meet Wednesday. By placing in the top 10, she earned a spot on the All-State team for the second consecutive year. She was eighth-place last year.

Raiders miss state meet berth by one point
The Hastings girls Alpine ski team came within a point of qualifying for the state meet next week. Hastings was edged out of the second and final qualifying spot by Minnehaha Academy, which finished with 343 points. Hastings had 342.

Full speed ahead: Alpine ski teams excel at Welch Village Invitational
All in all, it was a very successful day Friday for the Hastings Alpine ski teams.
The Raiders competed at the Welch Village Invitational in Welch.
There were two boys teams, and two girls teams, and highlights were found on all those teams.

Four races into the season, the Hastings Alpine ski teams have their seasons well under way. So far, Hastings coach Jim Peine likes what he is seeing.
The Hastings girls team is second in the conference rankings and the boys team is third.
