‘Recovery summer’ is off to disappointing start PressPass

To the editor: Last week, the U.S. Department of Labor announced the loss of another 125,000 jobs in June. The administration’s “recovery summer” is off to a disappointing start. If we continue on the course the administration and Congress have set for the nation, it will take more than six years just to get back the jobs lost since the start of the recession.

Road replacement will benefit us all PressPass

As most of you who drive regularly on West 15th and south on Pleasant Drive, signs are telling us that the 2010 re-construction project is about to get under way. Although road construction can be inconvenient, 15th St., Lyn Way and Westview and Pleasant drives are in dire need of replacement. The changes will benefit all of us.

To the editor, I was reading the Star Gazette and happened upon the section regarding the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau. As a town, we don’t make anything here. We buy stuff from Target, Ace and Walmart, but if we really want to get out of our economic woes, we need to produce.

To the editor, My husband, Rudolph F. Price, fought in World War II in Company C under General Omar Bradley. During his training, by recommendation of his superior officers, he was chosen to represent the Army in the Oct 19,1943, issue of Look Magazine, on four pages titled “How Healthy Is Our Army?” He passed away in 1987.
