LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Letter: Obama bashing is unsettling
To the editor, All this “Obama bashing” is very unsettling. He can hardly clean up the “mess” he inherited in one year! I’m sick and tired of Rush Limbaugh and his tirades.March 04, 2010
Letters: O’Briens need community’s support
To the editor, It’s a sad state of affairs when some politicians get us into such a financial mess that the trickle-down effect can put a long-time, reputable car dealership out of business.March 04, 2010
Letter: Cutting GAMC isn't the answer
To the editor, When Governor Tim Pawlenty gave his “State of the State” address Feb. 11, he emphasized the importance of creating jobs.March 04, 2010
Letter: Raider Nation is here to stay
To the editor, A new, exciting beginning is happening in 2010. Raider Nation Youth Baseball has been launched. We are extremely happy with the numbers we have signed up this year and hope to improve each season. It will be an awesome baseball season for our youth.March 04, 2010
Letter: Government shouldn’t close O’Brien
To the editor,
President Obama and the Democrats in Congress claim that they are worried about the lack of jobs in this nation. They should be worried. A Minnesota Public Radio broadcast on Feb. 16, 2010, contained the following disturbing statistic.

Letter: Residents are lucky to call Hastings home
To the editor,
I read the letter by Doug Erickson regarding his feelings on the O’Brien Chevrolet situation. I’ve lived in a half dozen communities in my life and was struck by the thought that, in none of those places would a car dealer stick up for another car dealer. A car dealer might even look at the situation as advantageous to his own business if the other one goes down.

Letter: Support at Losh Flannigan benefit was impressive
To the editor,
On Feb. 13th, I attended the benefit event at the Hastings Armory in support of Jami Losh Flannigan's family. The story of Jami's untimely death and the challenges faced by her husband, children and extended family touches the heart and puts a knot in the stomach. If what I saw at the event is evidence of the support this family has, they are in good hands.

Letters to the editor: Risk at 3M is no greater than a gas station
I am an employee at the 3M incinerator. My function is to program controls, upgrade equipment and troubleshoot problems. I know firsthand what scrutiny 3M is under by EPA, MPCA, the public and a host of other agencies.

Letters to the editor: Support the O’Brien’s bid to keep dealership
What went through your mind as you read last week’s cover story “O’Briens fighting to keep Chevy dealership?”

Letters to the editor: Bridge will remain open
The article about the Red Rock Corridor authored by Don Davis on page seven of last week's newspaper (February 11, 2010) contains some information that is in error.

Letters to the editor: Don’t bring hazardous materials to 3M
What is the Role of the MPCA (Minnesota Pollution Control Agency)? I have read the recent survey information on the 3M Incinerator proposal and I agree with the residents. Reading that on a scale of 0 to 100 with 100 being the best, the water quality rating is 20 and air quality is 32 for Cottage Grove and that it is significantly below the national average of 55 for water quality and 48 for air quality concerns me greatly.

Letters to the editor: Thanks to Patriot tournament helpers
I would like to thank all the former players and workers who attended the 50th Patriot Basketball Tournament Celebration.

Letters to the editor: What was Rosemount thinking with sign?
The City of Rosemount erected a monument-type sign on Highway 55 at the edge of their city limits that says “Welcome to Rosemount.” It’s a lovely sign. However, if you are driving towards Hastings, the sign illogically says “Rosemount”.

Letter: Upgrade of storm water system vital
To the editor,
I do not want to pay the extra annual fee for maintaining our storm water system. However, I would rather pay it directly to the city of Hastings than to the state in the form of income tax and have the state decide on who and how the funds are dispersed.
