Hastings talent – individuals and groups – will perform the annual Give Thanks concert at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at St., Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. In addition to showcasing the musical talents, the concert will also help Hastings Family Service, which is always there to help others.

The driver of a van that was reportedly stolen led St. Croix sheriff's deputies and on a 19-mile chase early Monday before the vehicle was eventually stopped by Minnesota authorities on a rural road, southeast of Woodbury. A man was taken into custody.

When it was announced that the Hastings bridge would close over the weekend of Sept. 7-9 for 48 to 72 hours, I was approached by business owners and constituents, who asked if I would send a request to MnDOT that they not close the bridge over the weekend because of all the local events scheduled during that time, including the Woodbury/Hastings football game, the downtown car show, the LeDuc Civil War presentation, Prescott Daze and the Hastings Fire Department Booya.
