Bike trip is planned
A summer overnight bike trip to Lanesboro will be held Thursday and Friday, Aug. 9 and 10. Participants will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, to travel to Lanesboro. The cost is $60 per person and includes hotel, continental breakfast, evening snacks, bike storage and tax. Participants can bike together once they are in Lanesboro or they can go on a longer ride. Bikes can be rented in Lanesboro. Bring a picnic lunch for the Thursday noon meal. Meals and other outings are on your own.

Horse riding camp starts up again July 30 in Hastings
Summer day camps are planned for area boys and girls who want to learn to ride horses. Hastings Huskies and Horses has sessions planned for youths ages 8 to 13. The lessons are for all levels of riders. Each participant gets his or her own horse for the week. The sessions run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Participants will learn to care for their horse, and will at first ride their horse in an enclosed area. Later they will go on a trail ride. The campers learn basic horsemanship along the way and will do a little bit of bareback riding, too.
