Since 1881, 206 Minnesota firefighters have died in the line of duty. Tuesday, July 31 • A gas leak was reported in the roadway at Pine and 13th streets at 11:33 a.m. Hastings Fire mitigated the leak and contacted CenterPoint Energy. • One person was reported injured after a crash at the intersection of 200th Street and Red Wing Boulevard. The crash was reported at 12:18 p.m.

About two hours after he allegedly killed his three children at the home where he once lived, a former River Falls man turned himself in to police at their station, soon after officers had begun searching for him. Aaron Schaffhausen, 34, was booked into St. Croix County Jail at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, on three counts of first degree intentional homicide.
