Editorial: Will 113th do better than 112th?
Even with Tuesday’s agreement to avoid the fiscal cliff, the 112th U.S. Congress will go down as one of the most unproductive in history. The dismal record is a result of partisan divisions embodied in large part by the extreme right in the House and the extreme left in the Senate. Both chambers seem to have been captive of a relatively small number of uncompromising ideologues, the result being legislative paralysis.

Mike Johnson, the Hastings High School principal, highly recommended Weber. In a nomination form, Johnson said this about Weber: To say that Sam Weber displays ‘service above self’ is an understatement. On a daily basis Sam takes care of people in his life and does so with a positive and uplifting attitude. To see this level of responsibility and leadership in a high school student is significant and rare.
