The YMCA will be hosting a community Santa Party on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos of their children with Santa. There will be crafts, lots of activities and food.

Hastings man charged with sexual assault on college student in Minneapolis
A Hastings man, 45-year-old Louis R. Oliver, faces a felony charge of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree after he allegedly sexually assaulted a college student near Riverside Park in Minneapolis on Nov. 19. Oliver made his first court appearance in Hennepin County District on Tuesday (Dec. 4).

ST. PAUL -- Minnesota voters do not want to prove who they are. Forty-six percent of voters Tuesday wanted to amend the state Constitution to require a photo ID before voting, but 50 percent was needed. The Minnesota vote went against a trend in other states to approve voter ID.
