The Hastings Planning Commission approved plans for a new car wash on the Shell Rapid Lube building at Hastings Chrysler. The car wash is being proposed for use by owners of newly purchased vehicles from Hastings Chrysler and Ford and would be located on the northeast side of the existing building.

A Prescott man died overnight Wednesday, May 23rd at Regions Hospital in St. Paul as a result of injuries suffered in a head-on crash last Sunday on Hwy. 35 south of Prescott. Randy J. Tape, 51, had been transported by helicopter from the scene along with his passenger, 53-year-old Tammy A. Decker, of Hastings, Minn. Although Regions has declined to acknowledge whether Decker is a patient at the hospital, Trooper Bill Traynor said early Thursday that she too remains in critical condition.
