Letter: Go see Black Dirt Theater’s ‘Resurrection’
I had the opportunity to attend Black Dirt Theater’s production of The Sound of Music” last summer. Up until that time, I thought of community theater as a chance for amateurs to have some fun on the stage, resulting in performances high on enthusiasm but low in quality.

Osberg's final day as city administrator is Friday
In March of 1989, Dave Osberg took a new job. He had been working in St. James when the city administrator position in Hastings opened up. City Hall had a much different dynamic back then. There was significant unrest in the council prior to Osberg’s hiring, and it continued in some measure into the first part of his career here. Anyone who came into his position would have had a tough time, Osberg said.

Everyday Hero: Sarah Wasvick
About four years ago, Sarah Wasvick’s son Taylor took to the football field for the Hastings Raiders. Wasvick wanted to help, and one thing she figured she could do was snap a few photos for the players. She wanted better photos of her sons, so she began clicking away and hasn’t looked back, spending her Friday nights in the fall running up and down the field with camera in hand. She’s continued the work, even though she no longer has a son on the team.
