Rivertown Days parade is at noon on Sunday, July 22
The big Rivertown Days parade is set to go at noon Sunday, July 22. This year’s event, sponsored by Regina Medical Center, has the same route, a lot of musical entertainment, colorful floats and marching units. There are 100 units in the parade which begins at 10th and Ramsey streets, then proceeds north on Ramsey Street (the wrong way) to Second Street. At Second Street, the units will go west under the bridge to Eddy Street. At Wilson Park, the parade will disband.

Mike Simacek served city for years as teacher, council member, activist
First, Mike Simacek taught industrial arts at Hastings High School for 30 years. Then, he continued to give his time to the community through a number of city commissions and as a City Council member. He also found time to serve the Boy Scouts, VFW, American Legion and the Hastings Lions Club.
