Guest viewpoint: Sexual violence requires community attention
As the father of three girls and a police officer who has responded to and investigated many sexual assault cases over the years, I am concerned. The Rotary Club Student of the Month is Sam Weber.
Mike Johnson, the Hastings High School principal, highly recommended Weber. In a nomination form, Johnson said this about Weber: To say that Sam Weber displays ‘service above self’ is an understatement. On a daily basis Sam takes care of people in his life and does so with a positive and uplifting attitude. To see this level of responsibility and leadership in a high school student is significant and rare.
