West CAP has been weatherizing homes since 1974
The light of a pilot program which began in 1974 is still on in 2012. WestCap a private, non-profit charitable organization based out of Glenwood City, contracts itself to the state of Wisconsin, receiving grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and from utilities, to weatherize homes in a seven-county area of western Wisconsin.

Raiders place sixth at Don Saatzer invite
Finally, the Hastings boys golf team is enjoying some nice weather. Monday was certainly the highlight of the season thus far for the Raiders, who competed at their annual Don Saatzer Invitational. As a curious 3-year-old, Sarah Foster’s parents didn’t need to prod her much to go play in the snow. Even in late April. So, after a freak snowstorm on April 28, 1994, there she was, running around in the family’s Hastings backyard near what was then Tilden Elementary. The congregation of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church had a lot to celebrate on Sunday afternoon. Date set for bridge memorial
The City of Hastings has received the tentative go-ahead from MnDOT or a bridge memorial event to commemorate the final hours of "Big Blue."
