Follow storyteller Roy Edward Power as he winds his way through Carpenter Nature Center telling family friendly tales of ancient customs and remembered things. Area ladies are invited to celebrate Halloween early at Ultimate Girls Night Out in Afton, Thursday, Oct. 18, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The first 30 ladies at the event will receive a Halloween bag and then be able to “trick or treat” along Afton’s main street for fun, free gifts. Plus, for the first time ever, guests will have the opportunity to “Paint Their Own Fall/Halloween Wine Glass.”

Star Wars convention returns to Hastings
Star Wars is coming to Hastings. The third annual Charity Con will be held in Hastings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Hastings National Guard Armory. Charity Con is a Star Wars convention with a mission: helping the less fortunate in the area. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hastings food shelf.
