Arts organizations, county plan music fest
Rosemount and Hastings share a beautiful piece of geography, the Spring Lake Park Preserve. The two communities both also have newly formed community bands. So to John Loch and Dick Graham it seemed natural that the two communities could partner to offer a music festival.

River Valley Band kicks off Sunday concert series at LeDuc estate
A community band was formed two years ago in the Hastings and it continues to perform at concerts. The group – River Valley Band – kicks off the 2012 summer outdoor concert series at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St.

River Valley Band kicks off series at LeDuc house
The River Valley Band was founded in November 2010 by Karen Banaszewski, Deb Saunders and Dee Larson. The band was initially conducted by Bob Casperson (retired Hastings High School band director). Pat Dymacek served as the first director and Jim Jacobsen took over the baton in June of 2011. The band has quickly grown to almost 50 members and has presented several concerts for communities including Hastings, Edina and Prescott.
