Coffee and Conversation continues with ‘Retirement – Is Every Day a Saturday?’
The Boomers and Better program of Hastings Community Education is continuing its second season of “Coffee and Conversation” by talking about retirement next month and all interested are invited. The Jan. 17 topic is “Retirement: Is Every Day a Saturday?” and will be presented by Hastings resident and former Allina Clinic staff physician Dr. Bill Spinelli.

Editorial: Lawmakers’ turn to value higher ed
If budgets truly are statements of values then it is clear Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton values education, including higher education, into which he proposes investing $262 million over the next two years. That would be a 10 percent increase, and it represents the largest percentage increase in the spending plan the governor has pitched to the state Legislature.
