Vermillion artist invited to join exclusive group
Vermillion watercolor artist Andy Evansen continues to earn high praise for his paintings. The biggest news for Evansen came two weeks ago, when he was informed by the Plein Air Painters of America that he was invited to become a signature member of the group. He is just the 35th person to become a member, and is one of only a handful of watercolor painters. The rest are oil or pastel painters. The organization was started in the 1980s.

Communication lacking during snow emergency: More than 130 vehicles cited, 25 towed in March 4 snowfall
In early March, an overnight snowstorm meant an unpleasant surprise for Hastings resident Jane Snyder. Weather reports had been predicting snow, so Snyder watched the news to see if there were going to be any school closings or snow emergencies. Seeing none, she figured she would just have to get up early to clear the vehicle off before going to work.

Letter: Traditions are being destroyed by oppressors
Every time we turn on the news we hear of another place in our country where God, a cross or a nativity scene is being removed from the public square. The ACLU, along with their co-conspirators, the Democrat Party, is attempting to destroy the traditions we hold sacred.
