Two charged after apparent heroin overdose
Two individuals – Douglas James Aune, 20, Cannon Falls, and Matthew Ogden Hoey, 19, Randolph – have been charged with two counts of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree after a May 21 incident in Hastings.

Third person arrested and charged related to teen's death in March
The police probe into the death of a Hastings teen in March continues. The teen died after an overdose of heroin and alcohol, and in April two people were arrested for the possession of a controlled substance. They accompanied the teen to St. Paul to purchase the heroin. Recently, a third person was arrested and later charged for supplying the alcohol.

Hastings man arrested following standoff Tuesday night
The 2300 block of Oak Street was full of police activity on Tuesday, April 16, for about three hours. At about 8 p.m., officers learned that a man with an active warrant was in a residence on Oak Street. They also learned the man had a handgun.
