Fourth-graders at Pinecrest Elementary in Hastings tell us what they're thankful for this year

“I’m thankful for my family. We just love each other so much. My brother and sister are in college, and my dad works in different places all the time. When they come home for the holidays, it makes me happy.”

  • Claire Biscoe<br /><br />“I’m thankful for clean water and my dog Lily. Nobody wants dirty water to drink. I got Lily for my fifth birthday. And for my family and my clothes. That’s pretty much it.”
  • Annalise Chapdelaine<br /><br />“I’m thankful that I can have some opportunities that some other kids (in other countries) can’t. I can go to school. Some kids can’t. I like having all my friends and my house, too. I wouldn’t want to live outside.”

She is white with a little bit of gray and she has brown eyes. She’s really little and fun and she also is nice. She knows how to do tricks and she’ll basically eat anything.”
  • Jenna McGuire<br /><br />“I’m thankful for seeing my dad every day. He’s a police officer. (I just like) seeing that he’s OK all the time.”
  • Hannah Mann<br /><br />“I’m thankful for my family and how they give me food and how I have a home. I like my sister and brothers. Sometimes we get into fights, but I still like them. My sister and I sleep in the same room. If my sister gets scared, I can go to tell her ‘I’m here.’”

They pay for the heating and cooling so I don’t go over or under on my body temperature.”

  • Tyler Sorenson<br /><br />“I’m thankful for having a great Christmas and a great birthday. My birthday is on Dec. 10. I’m going to have a lot of presents and friends and family. I feel really protected when I’m with them and safe around them.”
  • Bill Utecht<br /><br />“I’m thankful that I have a good family and a nice home to live in and food to eat. My family cares for me and gives me stuff to eat. They work hard to make money for our family.”
  • Chloe White<br /><br />“I’m thankful for my family and the things my mom and dad do for us. They’re really fair about what they do. When we do chores they pay us back for what we do for them.”
