William Ludwig Hanson died Thursday, Jan. 19.
He was born in Cannon Falls, Minn., on Sept. 23, 1935, to Ludwig and Blanch Hanson. Bill married Gloria Gehrke Ayres on March 17, 1963. Bill grew up and worked in the Cannon Falls area his entire life. He drove truck for Farmers Elevator and worked at area farms as a young man, and later he drove Redi Mix truck, then managed the plant in Cannon Falls for H.E. Westerman Co. which later became Cemstone Redi Mix. He retired in 2002.
Bill enjoyed traveling, country music, and time with his friends and family.
Survived by his wife, Gloria Hanson; children: William S. Hanson, Cannon Falls; Angela (Dan) Shingledecker, Hastings; Debbie (Keith) Sack, New Trier; Ken (Jody) Ayres, Goodhue; Julie (Bill) Whipple, New Trier; 16 grandchildren; brother, Edward (Mary) Hanson of Cannon Falls; Richard (Donna) Miller of Cannon Falls; 13 nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Ann Kehren; stepbrother, Elwood Miller.
Services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, with visitation at 10 a.m.
