Berniece Emma "Bea" Kuhl passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, March 8, at the age of 96 years.

Berniece Emma "Bea" Kuhl was born on Dec. 6, 1916, in Moscow Township in Freeborn County, Minn., the daughter of James Hamilton Taylor and Edna (Anderson) Taylor. She graduated from Austin/Albert Lea High School in 1934 and attended Mankato State College for 1 year. She married Harold Gerhard Kuhl on Aug. 29, 1936, at Berniece's home in Freeborn County. They had their family, and she loved to watch them grow. She enjoyed working as a waitress, clerk, and designer. On the farm, she loved her garden, flowers, and yard. Painting was a lifelong desire. She was able to pursue her painting interests in retirement and that her children all have examples of her talents. She enjoyed sewing and playing cribbage until her eye sight failed. Harold died on April 27, 1987. She lived in Arizona and volunteered for the Arthritis Foundation and Senior Center. She made friends wherever she went. She loved her nieces and nephews, too. She collected ceramic chickens since about 1960. In May 2006, she moved to Park Ridge Apartments in Hastings.

She returned to Cannon Falls in September 2010 and had resided at Twin Rivers Senior Campus where she passed peacefully on Friday afternoon, March 8, at the age of 96 years.

She would most like to be remembered for being kind and helpful.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law James Underdahl; and brothers and sisters, Chester Taylor, Edna Russell, James A. Taylor, and Elizabeth Brewster.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls with Pastor Phillip Ruud officiating.
