Lucy M. Ryan, age 79, of Hastings, passed away Feb. 19 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Lucy M. Ryan, age 79, of Hastings, passed away Feb. 19 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

She was born in Seymour, Mo., to William and Mabel Bollinger on July 22, 1933. She married Gene Ryan in Marshfield, Mo., on June 13, 1953. Lucy worked for many years in the dental office with Drs. Thibodeau and Conway, and prior at Pinecrest School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Robert, and Eli; and sister, Frances.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene”; children, Gary (Barb) Ryan, Janet Marien, Trish (Dave) Blenkush, and Jennifer (Chris) Goihl; grandchildren, Jake, Nicholas, Laura, Anna, Belle, Jimmy, Michael, Jordyn, Megan, and Mitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the Mass on Monday. Pallbearers are Jake Marien, Nicholas Ryan, Laura Ryan, Anna Ryan, Belle Marien, and Jimmy Marien. Interment will be at St. Columbkill Cemetery in Belle Creek, Minn.
