Richard Colwell, 87

Richard "Dick" Colwell, age 87, of Hastings, passed away at United Hospital on Feb. 15.

He was born in Franklin, Minn., on Feb. 14, 1926, to Ed and Lou Colwell. Dick married Shirley Smith on June 17, 1950, in Springfield, Minn.

He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, George, John, and Bob Colwell; daughter-in-law Sally Colwell; and grandson Samuel Ringhand.

Dick is survived by his wife, Shirley; children James (Paula), Robert, and Jane (Tim) Ringhand; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Adam) Tolliver, Rachel and Jack Ringhand, and Hailey and James Colwell.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Doug Duin, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
