Donna Mae Johnson, age 83, of Hastings, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Dec. 3.

Donna Mae Johnson, age 83, of Hastings, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Dec. 3.

Donna was born on May 13, 1929, in Ellsworth, Wis., to Paul and Verbena Boleen. She married LeRoy Johnson on June 6, 1947. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, sewing, baking, cooking, and most of all, her family and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; infant son; stepmother, Martha Boleen; one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Debora (Jerry) Miller, Renee (Gary) Afdahl, Tammy Johnson; son, Timothy Johnson; grandchildren, Jessica Warner, Molly Linde, Anna (Scott) Johnson, Adam Johnson, Kristin (Tod) Causby, Brad (Kristin) Afdahl, Lori (Grant) Brinkman; great-grandchildren, Mason, Owen, Evan, Blake, Taylor, Cole, Mallorie, Will, Drew, Amelia, Bo, Ian; sisters, Betty Ann Baker, Margaret (Rev. Edward) Erickson.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Greg Fondell, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at United Methodist Church of Hastings, 615 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, as well as 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment Lakeside Cemetery.
