Jordan David Astar, age 19, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 29.

Jordan David Astar, age 19, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 29.

He was born on July 15, 1993, in Green Bay, the son of David and Debbie (Randich) Astar. Jordan was on the Dean's list at UW-Madison. He was a member of Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity and loved participating with the Black Dirt Theatre group and the Hastings High School Riverside group. Jordan enjoyed music, playing his guitar, and movies.

He is survived by his parents; sisters, Dina (Mark) Opsahl, Tara (Garrett) Brown, Brianna Astar (Nick Rizzardi), and Sabrina Astar; nieces, Kali and Arianna Opsahl and Bennett and Josie Brown; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, with Pastor Lloyd Menke presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Jordan, your love and kindness for others, your humor, and contagious smile was an inspiration to us all. You have impacted the lives of many with your big heart, numerous gifts and talents. We love you, Jordan, and you will be deeply missed.
