Gertrude M. Leifeld, 102

Gertrude M. Leifeld, age 102, of Hastings, passed away Oct. 24.

She was born in Bird Island, Minn., to Frank and Anna Dummer on April 7, 1910. She married Peter Leifeld in South St. Paul in 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; daughters Genevieve Wahlstrom, Loretta Van Gundy, Lucille Nogle, and Theresa Leifeld; son Leonard Leifeld; grandson Bob Wahlstrom Jr.; three brothers and three sisters; sons-in-law Donald Serres and Lawrence Nogle.

She is survived by daughters Bernice (Nicholas) Otto, Patricia Serres, Marcy (Bob) Gabbert; 29 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; sons-in-law Robert Wahlstrom and Allen Van Gundy; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the Mass at church. Pallbearers are Kevin Gabbert, Annette Van Gundy, Michael Serres, Tommy Walstrom, Ronald Otto, and Gerald Otto. Interment St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
