Dewayne J. Doffing, age 78, of Hastings, died Saturday, Oct. 20.

Dewayne J. Doffing, age 78, of Hastings, died Saturday, Oct. 20.

Dewayne was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Red Wing, Minn., to Phillip and Lena (Kruger) Doffing. He married Noreen Flanaghan in 1957 and moved to St. Paul. Since 1971, Dewayne and his family have been residents of Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Noreen; and brothers Gary "Giggs" and Larry.

Dewayne is survived by his children, Linda (Tim) Lasenbby, Colleen Perez, Steve, Danny; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings Duff (Jim) Ellingbow, Betty Charles, Rita (Jim) Casby, Marvin Doffing, Paul (Rita) Doffing, Dennis (Thea) Doffing; and many other loving family and friends.

A funeral service, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

My deepest condolence to the entire Doffing family, so many childhood memories with all of you. I lived just a few houses down on Westview Drive from you. Many prayers to all of you and may he live in your hearts forever. Kara Ramsey (Welter) Phoenix, AZ

My Heart Felt Prayers R with U and the Family. I was Devastated when i heard. U all have been in my thoughts continuously. Dewy always had a place in my Heart, all these years. He will truly be missed by so MANY!!! He is in a GOOD Place and Happy, I'm pretty sure Dewy and Stu R. Sr. r playing cribbage!!! Our Prayers R with U all The Whole Ross Family.
