Sharon J. Yedo White, 55, died from complications of cancer on Sunday, June 24, at Rice Memorial Hospital.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at Hinterland Vineyard starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in lieu of a funeral, and those who cannot attend are asked to offer a sunset toast in her honor.
Sharon Josephine Yedo White was born in Denver, Colo., on March 22, 1957. She graduated from high school in Denver and attended 2 years of college. She was actively involved in Special Olympics and shared regional coordinator duties for exchange students through EF Foundation for Foreign Study. She was host mother to 34 exchange students from around the world and visited many in their homes. She also enjoyed simple things like reading, gardening, fishing, canoeing and sharing delicious meals over a lively table. Above all else, she was an outspoken advocate for the disabled community, where she spent her career working in support services, most recently at Divine House in Willmar.
She is survived by her husband, John G. White of Clara City, and sons, Jacob of Willmar, and Aaron (and special friend Michelle Troye) of St. Paul; her parents, Carol and Carlos Gonzales of Denver; a brother, Steve (and Arlena) Yedo of Denver; and nieces and nephews on her side of the family.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Yedo; her brother John Yedo; and her sister, Kathy Yedo, and her grandparents.
