Louis Labisch, age 97, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Barnesville, Minn., died June 21, surrounded by loved ones, at Regina Hospital in Hastings.

Louis Labisch, age 97, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Barnesville, Minn., died June 21, surrounded by loved ones, at Regina Hospital in Hastings.

Louis was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Atherton Township, to Paul and Anna (Weber) Labisch. He married Marjorie Pasch on June 10, 1941, in Barnesville. Louis and Marjorie lived in Atherton Township where he farmed. Later he worked for Wilkin County and after retirement continued working for his good friend K. W. Christensen in their potato business.

After retirement, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing cribbage and euchre. In 2005, he moved to Hastings with his daughter and son-in-law after the passing of his beloved wife of 63 years, Marjorie.

He is survived by daughters, Betty Lou (James) Johnson of Leesburg, Fla., and Mary Ann (Victor) Teuber of Hastings; four granddaughters, Lisa (Dave) Zurbey, Theresa (Rick) Mulek, Michelle (Paul) Tisl and Sue (Chad) Winters; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas of Cheney, Wash.

Waiting at heaven's gate is his wife, Marjorie; parents; brothers and sisters; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred.

Funeral services: will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services in the church. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville.
