Raymond H. Schuster, age 87, of Hastings, passed away April 23 at his home.
Raymond H. Schuster, age 87, of Hastings, passed away April 23 at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1924, to William and Mary Schuster. He grew up in Pine River, Minn. Raymond was a decorated WWII veteran. He worked as a meat cutter and was a creative entrepreneur. He enjoyed cars, storytelling, cards, and chatting with friends at the YMCA while attempting to work up a sweat. He loved going out to breakfast with his friends and most of all, his family.
He was preceded in death by wife, Betty; significant other, Lorraine Mausolf; his parents; grandson Aaron; three brothers.
Raymond is survived by children, Michael (Hope) Schuster, Patricia Schuster, Susan (John) Sieben, Richard (Heidi) Schuster, Shari (Raymond) Thielbar; 15 grandchildren; sister, Donna (Derald) Watson; many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, as well as 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Memorials preferred to the Aaron Schuster Memorial College Fund, YMCA, or Pine River American Legion Post #613.
